Gunman Accosts Couple, Shoots Man
A gunman approached a couple sitting in a car in East San Diego early Thursday and shot at the man after demanding his car keys and his wallet, a police spokesman said.
The bullet, however, only grazed Timothy Jett, 21. He was treated at the Naval Hospital in Balboa Park, and was released Thursday afternoon. His girlfriend, whose name was not released, was unharmed.
Jett and his girlfriend were in the car when the gunman, in his early 20s, told them to get out and lie face down on the street in the 3500 block of Chamoune Avenue near Dwight Street.
After Jett rolled to his side to get his wallet, the gunman shot him and then fled in a brown Datsun.
