SANTA ANA — A fight in the dark, early-morning hours Sunday at an apartment complex in the 2700 block of West McFadden Avenue led to the fatal shooting of one man and the stabbing of another, police reported.
Cpl. Gene McManus said police were called to the apartment complex about 3:15 a.m. Sunday. Officers found Oscar Hernandez, 30, of Santa Ana, dead at the scene, McManus said. Hernandez had been shot three times, McManus added.
Investigators found another man, identified as Gustavo Gutierrez, 27, of Santa Ana, in critical condition from multiple stab wounds, McManus said. Gutierrez was taken to a local hospital.
There are few clues to the two crimes, McManus said. “We don’t have any suspects, and we don’t know the motive,” the officer said.
