Neon Sign Sparks Fire in Yorba Linda
YORBA LINDA —
A fire sparked by a neon sign caused about $250,000 in damage to a strip mall Friday night, fire officials said.
Three businesses were destroyed by the fire which began at 7:18 p.m. About 40 firefighters worked about 40 minutes to extinguish it, said Orange County Fire Department Capt. Dan Young.
The fire started from an electrical short in a neon sign outside the Carpet Place, Young said.
Young said two similar fires broke out at the same strip mall, at 18340 Yorba Linda Blvd., last year.
