OXNARD : 1 Killed, Several Injured in Accident

One person was killed and several others were seriously injured Sunday in a four-vehicle accident in Oxnard, police said.
“We have five or six injuries, and they’re all serious, and one person is dead that I’m aware of,” Oxnard Police Sgt. James Skeeters said.
Helicopters were used to airlift some of the victims to nearby hospitals, Skeeters said. Names of the people involved were not released.
The accident occurred about 6:20 p.m. at 5th Street and Rice Avenue in a rural area of the city. No other details were available Sunday night.
