Diamond Bar : 2 Development Tracts OKd

The City Council on Tuesday approved portions of a 240-house hillside development in Tonner Canyon, but it temporarily denied approval of 54 of the houses until further soil engineering work is completed.
The developers, Diamond Bar Associates and Al LaPeter, can proceed with two tracts of 120 houses on 160 acres and 66 houses on 89 acres.
The city denied development of a third tract containing 54 houses on 72 acres because the area could be subject to earth slippage if disturbed. The developer must present adequate studies of the impacts of grading that area.
In approving two tracts, the council added conditions reducing the steepness of certain slopes and requiring houses to be equipped with water lines that use drainage water for irrigation.
