Imagine All the Workshops

The seventh annual Imagination Celebration of Orange County, designed to promote creativity in children and teens, will run Saturday through May 3. Some 30 local arts and education organizations will offer activities and performances. Many events are free; none costs more than $10 per person. The local celebration is one component of a national program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., staged in several cities. It is presented here by the Orange County Performing Arts Center and the Orange County Department of Education. Here are some highlights. SATURDAY, APRIL 25: Sixteenth Annual “Very Special Arts Festival,” demonstrations and workshops in art, music, dance and drama for children in preschool through 12th grade. SUNDAY, APRIL 26: “Just Imagine Yourself in the Past,” turn-of-the-century activities such as puppet- and doll-making, shell painting, silhouette cutting and feather work.
