VAN NUYS : Suspect Sought in Slaying Surrenders
A suspect wanted by Los Angeles police in connection with a poolroom shooting that killed one man and critically wounded another surrendered Wednesday.
Joe Lozano, 30, walked into the Van Nuys Police Station accompanied by his attorney about 3 p.m., Lt. Fred Tuller said. Lozano, an unemployed machinist, was held without bail on suspicion of murder, Tuller said. A warrant for Lozano’s arrest was issued last week, accusing him of killing Ronald Wayne Clark, 26, of Panorama City.
Lozano is suspected of fatally shooting Clark after they argued over a billiard game on April 7 at the Rack ‘N’ Tap Bar in the 8700 block of Van Nuys Boulevard. Lozano also critically wounded Clark’s friend, Gregory Garner, 27, who has since been released from the hospital, Tuller said.
