Jerry Burchfield’s contemporary photography class at Cypress College will sponsor an interactive community project on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. Burchfield will roll a 1,000-foot-long, 10-inch-wide sheet of unexposed light-sensitive paper down the center of Lake Shore Drive in Cypress; members of the college community and the general public are invited to stand motionless on the paper for the one hour period, to record their footprints. Burchfield claims the project, “Light Line,” will create “awareness of our need to come together as people through a public display of individual and community commitment.” (714) 826-2220, ext. 244.

Portions of the Laguna Art Museum exhibit “I Thought California Would be Different: New Work in the Permanent Collection” will move to the museum’s South Coast Plaza satellite July 3 for about three months. The full show at the main museum closes May 17.
