A Newbury Park man, a teen-ager and a 4-year-old boy were in serious condition Monday after their pickup truck drifted off the road and rolled over several times, flinging them out of the vehicle, authorities said.
Eric Stolp, 29, the driver, was taken to Westlake Medical Center with head injuries and scrapes over 30% of his body, authorities said.
Stolp’s son, Jonathan, was taken to Los Robles Regional Medical Center. The boy’s uncle--Eric’s brother--Heinz Stolp, 16, was also taken to Los Robles.
Eric Stolp was driving on West Potrero Road, west of Pinehill Street, at 1 p.m. Sunday when the accident occurred as the trio were headed to the beach, authorities said.
Authorities were investigating why the truck drifted onto the dirt shoulder before it careened back onto the roadway and flipped over. Alcoholic intoxication was not being considered as a contributing factor, they said.
It was not clear whether the victims were wearing seat belts, officials said.
