SUN VALLEY : Pedestrian Killed by Big-Rig Truck

A Sun Valley woman was killed Monday morning when she was struck by a big-rig truck as she crossed a street, police said.
Leticia Gonzalez, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at Telfair Avenue and Tuxford Street, Los Angeles Police Officer Jim Thompson said. Truck driver Jory Davis, 37, of North Hollywood was not cited although the incident remains under investigation, Thompson said. Davis was driving a truck owned by Western Waste of Sun Valley, Thompson said.
Davis told police that he was turning from Telfair onto Tuxford when he heard a thump, stopped to see what had happened and found Gonzalez, Thompson said.
There is no traffic light or marked crosswalk at the intersection.
