Robber Takes $2,000 From S&L; Office
Police were looking for a man who robbed a Downey Savings & Loan office here Friday of more than $2,000.
Police said the robber handed a note to a teller, then demanded that she empty cash from her drawer into his hands.
No injuries were reported in the robbery, which occurred about 3 p.m. at 20002 Brookhurst St.
Police described the robber as in his 30s, about 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighing 185 pounds, with a thin build and short, blond hair. He was wearing a beige sport coat, white shirt and white shoes.
He did not appear to have a weapon, police said.
