A CITY IN CRISIS : The Phones: Delay on 310
Conversion to the 310 area code, scheduled to begin in several parts of the county Saturday, was postponed indefinitely as a result of rioting.
The affected area is bordered by the 818 area code to the north, the 805 area code to the northwest, the 714 area code to the south and east, and the Pacific Ocean to the west.
Since Nov. 2, customers have been able to dial either 213 or 310.
