Two passengers died Sunday in unrelated accidents in Escondido after one victim was pinned between a pair of vehicles and another was pinned inside a car, authorities said.

An 81-year-old Escondido woman died at Palomar Medical Center after the truck she was riding in ran a red light and hit a car, coroner’s officials said. Giuseppina De-Amico was pinned between the two vehicles at the intersection of Citracado Parkway and Centre City Parkway.

An unidentified man also died Sunday after the car he was riding in crossed a center divider and collided with one car and then side-swiped another on Del Dios Highway, just west of Via Rancho Parkway, The Californa Highway Patrol said.
