MINNEAPOLIS — Police on Friday were holding a black man for allegedly shooting a black teen-ager, an incident that triggered a melee by a mob that thought police shot the boy.
A spokesman for the Hennepin County Attorney said charges would likely be brought against the unnamed 66-year-old man, whose house was set on fire Thursday night.
The boy, 15, was shot in the chest and was listed in serious condition. Two other men, including a local minister, were also hospitalized with gunshot wounds and were in good condition.
