Gerlach, Potter Head Field in Trestles Surf Contest

Brad Gerlach, Martin Potter and Sunny Garcia will be among the surfers competing at the $20,000 Body Glove Surf Bout V, which starts today at Lower Trestles.

Also expected to compete are defending U.S. champion Mike Parsons, Shane Beschen and Matt Archbold, all of San Clemente.

Defending U.S. champion Mike Stewart of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, is among the entries in the bodyboarding division.

Competition begins each day at 7 a.m., with the finals tentatively scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday. Laguna Beach’s Jeff Booth is the defending Trestles champion.
