Share

The Lynwood city manager unexpectedly resigned from office this week, citing personal reasons, City Hall sources said Friday.

He will leave office on May 28, according to his letter of resignation. Michael T. Heriot, who has been with the city since 1988, did not return phone calls and the city attorney was unavailable for comment.

According to public records, Heriot had been granted a $30,000 personal loan by the City Council in January. Under the terms of the loan, Heriot has had $1,000 deducted from his paychecks each month to repay the money.
