MOORPARK : Slogan, Logo Sought for Country Days
Moorpark residents with an artistic flair will have the opportunity to suggest the theme and logo for this year’s Country Days celebration in a contest sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce.
The theme and logo will be used on flyers, T-shirts and other promotional materials for the Western-style event that will be held Oct. 2-4, said Carolyn Schrimpf, administrative assistant for the chamber, which organizes the annual celebration.
Last year’s Country Days was advertised with the slogan “All Around Fun in ‘91,” with an accompanying design of a Ferris wheel.
Although the chamber has always accepted residents’ suggestions for the event’s theme, this is the first time it has held a contest for submissions, Schrimpf said.
“There’s a lot of talented people out there, and we’d like to hear from them,” Schrimpf said.
The winner will ride in the Country Days parade and will receive prizes donated by local merchants, she said.
Contest submissions should be taken to the chamber office at 530 Moorpark Ave. by June 15. For more information, contact Schrimpf at 529-0322.
