Ten area Girl Scouts will be honored...

Ten area Girl Scouts will be honored June 7 when the Mt. Wilson Vista Council of the Girl Scouts presents its Gold Awards.

They are Alexandra Browning, Heidi Hammons, Sandra Keyes, Sheryl Miller, Renee Pengra and Carol Weyermuller of La Canada Flintridge; Mariana Klaric and Carrie Scroggins of La Crescenta, and Maria Sharp and Ingrid Gunnell of Glendale.

The award, the most prestigious in the organization, requires completion of a project combining the girl’s entire scouting experience. The ceremony will be from 2 to 4 p.m. June 7 at the Doubletree Hotel in Pasadena.

* Dr. Kenneth L. Senter of Glendale and Robert E. Wycoff of Pasadena recently were named recipients of the California Medical Center-Los Angeles Humanitarian Award.

Senter was recognized for his work with patients unable to pay for medical care. Wycoff, president and chief operating officer of ARCO, was honored for his extensive involvement in civic and social causes.

* Neal H. Brockmeyer of La Canada Flintridge was recently given the Golden Apple Award for community service by the American Assn. of School Administrators.

He has served as director and president of the Crescenta/Canada YMCA and the La Canada Flintridge Educational Foundation. He is a trustee and member of the executive committee of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.

* Suzanne Coscarelli of Glendale received the “GTE California Good Citizen Award.”

She was honored for her work with local charities, including the annual Children’s Toy Charity that she founded at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church.

* P. Robert LaBarthe and Brian Morris, both of Glendale, have been elected to the 1992 Board of Directors of Big Brothers of Greater Los Angeles.

LaBarthe will serve as vice president/public relations and Morris as treasurer.

* Scott A. Wilson has been appointed director of sales and marketing for Red Lion’s new hotel in Glendale, due to open in November.
