Direct Move: John McTiernan, director of such hit films as “Die Hard,” “The Hunt for Red October” and “Medicine Man,” has left the William Morris Agency for Creative Artists Agency--dealing a further blow to Morris’ motion picture division, The Times has learned. The news comes only weeks after Morris had negotiated for McTiernan to join author Tom Clancy in developing a movie based on the Persian Gulf War. McTiernan is the second high-profile director to jump from Morris to CAA in recent months. Former client Tim Burton (“Batman”) also joined CAA recently.
