Man Found Dead at Home; Woman Says She Shot Him
Sheriff’s deputies found the body of a 40-year-old man in the upstairs bedroom of a tract home Thursday, after a woman reported that she had shot her former boyfriend.
Sheriff’s investigators took the woman into custody for questioning and to test her hands for gunshot residue, Lt. Richard J. Olson said. As of late Thursday afternoon, she had not been arrested, he said. The name of the dead man was withheld until his relatives could be notified, Olson said.
The shooting occurred at 11:55 a.m. at 24992 Owens Lake Circle. The woman, whom sheriff’s officials would not identify, called 911 and waved down the arriving deputies, Olson said. She told them that she had shot her ex-boyfriend after he had broken into the house, Olson said. Deputies found a handgun in the bedroom, Olson said.
