The Ultimate Bore

My wife and I have been concert-goers at the Orange County Performing Arts Center since its opening and for many years before in other concert halls. We were in the audience recently at the outstanding event with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Dzhansug Kakhidze. On our way home, we both felt that this had been one of the most enjoyable concerts we ever had attended. We thought it would be interesting to see what the reviewers had to say.

We were given a highly intellectual and very boring account of John Henken’s experience (“Kakhidze Leads Moscow Philharmonic,” April 13). Over the years I have read many reviews that made me wonder if I was in the same place as the reviewer, but this one takes the cake!
