Winners of the 1992 high school and community college design competitions sponsored by the Orange County chapter of the American Institute of Architects have been announced. Among the high school entries, Tim Leard of Esperanza High in Anaheim took first place, Caroline Scott of Foothill High in Santa Ana won second prize and Scott Campbell of Newport Harbor High in Newport Beach placed third and won the “best model” award. Honorable mentions went to Herman Alvardo of Esperanza High and Nguyen Vu of Fountain Valley High. Orange Coast College students swept the community college awards: Greg Kruse came in first, Jeff Hatch took second place, Huy Vu Tran placed third, and honorable mentions went to Greg Hemmerlin, Tri Duc Do and Noah Hamman.
