Helena Sukova of Czechoslovakia defeated Camille Benjamin of the United States, 6-3, 6-2, and advanced to the semifinals of the Beckenham, England, grass-court tournament. Robbie Koenig of South Africa won his third-round match, 6-3, 6-4, over Nick Gould of Britain. The other scheduled matches were rained out.
