John David Jackson beat Pat Lawlor on a ninth-round technical knocout in a World Boxing Organization junior-middleweight fight at San Francisco. In a preliminary fight, former New York Jet linebacker Mark Gastineau (9-1) lost a five-round heavyweight decision to Tim Anderson (26-14-1).
