Rod Woodson, a Pittsburgh Steeler cornerback who faces misdemeanor charges in an alleged assault on a police officer in Ft. Wayne, Ind., lost an initial bid for a trial that wouldn’t interfere with the NFL season.
Judge Mark Thomas refused to grant a January date, but didn’t agree either with a prosecutor’s request for a September trial.
Woodson and his brother, Jamie, face misdemeanor charges of battery and resisting law enforcement stemming from an argument over disconnecting their dying father from life support systems.
