HANDS ACROSS L.A.: In an effort to heal the city of Los Angeles, the public is invited to join an Interfaith Coalition gathering to form a human chain, for prayer and song, along a 10-mile stretch on Western Avenue (from Franklin Avenue on the north to Florence Avenue on the south) beginning today at 2:30 p.m. Churches and temples in the area will be joining in by ringing their bells at 3 p.m.

REDISTRICTING: The Los Angeles City Council’s Ad Hoc Committee on Redistricting has scheduled a public meeting for Monday to discuss redistricting plans for the Board of Education. The meeting will be in the Council Chambers (Room 340) of City Hall, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

IRISH FAIR: The Grand National Irish Fair and Music Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at the Santa Anita Race Track infield, 285 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia. The fair will have more than 100 vendors featuring Irish gifts and imports, unique handmade arts and crafts, Irish culture and folklore, music and food. Tickets are $12.50 for adults; $7.50 for seniors, students (age 18-25) and handicapped; $5.50 for youths (age 13-18), and children under 13 are free when accompanied by an adult.

‘SAVORY SUNDAY’: Food-tasting event featuring chefs from local restaurants; sponsored by the Hollywood Los Feliz Jewish Community Center, 1110 Bates Ave., Los Angeles; noon to 7:30 p.m. today ($5).
