Laffit Pincay will have to wait at least one more day to become the winningest rider in Hollywood Park history.

Consecutive victories aboard S.S. Picante and Trailing Steppe Sunday left Pincay tied with Bill Shoemaker with 2,416 victories at Inglewood. Earlier in the year, Pincay passed Shoemaker for most victories at Santa Anita.

Second to Shoemaker in overall victories, Pincay had five mounts Monday, the first of seven consecutive Monday programs at Hollywood Park. He didn’t hit the board with Sky Rider in the second, Burgers N Fries in the fourth, Bibi Star in the seventh, In Regards in the eighth or Nifty Nathan in the ninth.

But Pincay is scheduled to have plenty of opportunities to pass Shoemaker when racing resumes Wednesday. He is listed on eight horses--So Ever Clever in the first, Wood Spirit in the second, Snow Perch in the third, Majestic Guess in the fourth, The Harpist in the fifth, Tanker Port in the seventh, Stutz Cat in the eighth and Torrissimmo in the ninth.

Sacramentada, beaten by almost 29 lengths by Paseana in the Milady Handicap, bled badly despite having been treated with Lasix, according to trainer Richard Mandella.

Previously, the Chilean mare, who is owned in part by R.D. Hubbard, Hollywood Park’s president, won the Hawthorne Handicap and was fourth in a blanket finish in the A Gleam Handicap on April 29.

Mandella also said that Bel’s Starlet, who won the Valkyr Handicap Saturday as the 3-10 favorite, came out of the race sore.

Kent Desormeaux, who won three times Monday, extending his lead in the Hollywood Park jockey standings, has had at least one winner on 30 of 33 days this meeting. He didn’t ride locally on May 9 and failed to win May 13 and 21.

Victories aboard How’s Bayou Bubbie in the first, Gray Endeavor in the third and Nat’s Sallie in the seventh left Desormeaux with 57, 30 more than Pincay and Eddie Delahoussaye.

Reunited with Alex Solis after two defeats, Wicked Wit responded with a one-length victory over 11-1 shot Top Bank to win the $56,400 Eloquent Stakes.

Reserved off the pace, the 3-year-old Pirate’s Bounty filly rallied outside favored Cadillac Women in the stretch and out-finished Top Bank, who had taken the lead from In Regards. The 3-1 third choice, Wicked Wit completed the six furlongs in 1:09 3/5 for her fifth victory in 13 starts.

Before Monday, Solis rode Wicked Wit to victory in the Boo La Boo on Feb. 1 at Santa Anita, but apprentice Danny Velasquez Jr., son of the filly’s trainer, was aboard in her last two races. She finished third in the Santa Paula, then was seventh in the Railbird on May 30.

Making her first start since finishing third in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies last November, Cadillac Women was beaten by half a length by Top Bank at 6-5 odds.

A decision on whether Vying Victor will run in Sunday’s $100,000 Cinema Handicap will be made after trainer Ian Jory sees the weights this morning.

“I don’t want him carrying too much,” Jory said of the 3-year-old. “He worked well (seven furlongs in 1:25 4/5 Monday morning). “He seemed to do it easy. (Jockey) Ron Hansen liked how he went.”

Winner of the Remington Park Derby and runner-up in the Jim Beam, Vying Victor has run in six states this year--California, Florida, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kentucky and Illinois.

If Vying Victor skips the Cinema, Jory might run him in the $300,000 Ohio Derby on Saturday at Thistledown or the $300,000 Arlington Classic on Sunday.

Among those also being considered for the Cinema, at 1 1/8 miles on turf, are Will Rogers winner The Name’s Jimmy, Bold Assert, Fax News, Blue Tiger, Bright Day Bob and Bien Bien.

Horse Racing Notes

Alex Solis’ victory aboard Wicked Wit was only his fourth in his last 80 mounts. He ranks fourth in the standings with 26 victories. . . . South American rider Goncalino Almeida and trainer Ron McAnally combined for two upsets--Frenchman’s Cove at $14.80 in the fifth and Scarlet Friendship at $29.40 in the sixth. Frenchman’s Cove beat stablemate and heavily favored Kalwada for her first victory in the United States. . . . McAnally is tied with Bob Hess Jr. for the lead in the trainer standings. Each has 15, two more than Gary Jones.
