A lawn-maintenance worker filed a damage suit in Miami against New York Giant lineman William Roberts, claiming Roberts and three friends attacked him after Roberts accused him of stealing his Super Bowl rings.

Attorney Ellis Rubin said his client, Dornel Robinson, is seeking at least $4 million in compensatory damages for physical injuries and “extreme mental anguish” and $1 million for false imprisonment.

Robinson, 25, said he was accosted by Roberts and three other men in the early morning hours of June 12. Roberts, a member of the Giants’ offensive line, accused Robinson of breaking into his home and stealing his Super Bowl rings from the 1986 and 1990 seasons and a bracelet, the suit says.
