Davey Allison overpowered the field, leading 158 of the 200 laps--including the final 73--on the two-mile, high-banked Michigan International Speedway oval, to win the Miller 400 NASCAR race at Brooklyn, Mich.
Allison’s victory, his fourth of the year and Ford’s 11th in 14 races, came by 3.31 seconds over the Chevrolet of Darrell Waltrip. Alan Kulwicki’s Ford was third.
Allison earned $150,665, which sent him above $1 million for the year. He averaged 152.672 m.p.h.
