SMALL FACES: Just in case you haven’t heard enough of George Thorogood’s “Bad to the Bone” on classic-rock radio, in such movies as “Terminator 2” and in countless TV sports profile segments, the Delaware rocker has recorded a new version of the song that leads off a greatest-hits collection, scheduled for a July 28 release. . . .

Another revived oldie (relatively speaking) is Technotronic’s “Move On.” Thanks to its use in a current Revlon cosmetics TV commercial (featuring supermodel Cindy Crawford and Technotronic’s Ya Kid K), the 1989 song has jumped up the Billboard singles chart to No. 44 and will likely break the Top 40 this week. A new video has just been shot for the song. . . .

Sugarcubes singer Bjork Gudmundsdottir is reportedly writing songs for a solo album, though there’s no word on how this affects the status of the Icelandic band. . . . Former Chuck Berry pianist Johnnie Johnson, whose 1991 solo debut album featured the likes of Keith Richards and Eric Clapton, is working on a follow-up with backing from the Kentucky HeadHunters. . . .

The term alternative-rock supergroup is an oxymoron, but what else to call Luna, which brings together Dean Wareham of Galaxie 500, Justin Harwood of the Chills and Stanley Demeski of the Feelies? An album, “Lunapark,” is due Aug. 18.
