Countywide : Vets Donate Services for Low-Cost Clinics

Share

Veterinarians will donate their services Tuesday night and again July 23 to offer low-cost rabies vaccines for dogs.

State and local laws require all dogs more than 4 months old to be vaccinated against rabies, a contagious disease that is usually fatal. The vaccine protects young dogs for about a year and adult dogs for about three years.

The $4 vaccine will be offered Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Orange County Animal Shelter, 561 S. The City Drive in Orange. The July 23 vaccinations will be given at the Stanton Recreation Center, 7800 Katella Ave., Stanton.

Veterinarians on both evenings will also offer a $9 general inoculation for dogs. The inoculation is not required by law but protects pets against six common canine diseases.
