Washington State Coach Bobo Brayton said that he was astonished at claims that he told players to lie to Pacific 10 investigators looking into possible scholarship violations. Brayton said his only instructions to his players were “to be polite and tell the truth.”
Shortstop Jason Goligoski was quoted in the Fairbanks (Alaska) News-Miner as saying that Brayton called out-of-state players into his office and “instructed them to lie.”
