SAN FERNANDO VALLEY : Man Sentenced for Robbing Woman

Share

A Pacoima man who pleaded guilty to robbing a Woodland Hills woman in her driveway in May as a member of an alleged ring of “follow home” robbers was sentenced Tuesday to three years in prison.

Derrick Mosley, 20, did not enter his plea as part of an offer for a reduced sentence. He faced a maximum sentence of seven years in prison for the single count of robbery, but Van Nuys Municipal Court Judge Robert Swasey gave him the minimum term.

Mosley’s alleged accomplices, Bernard Roberts, 24, of Granada Hills, and Richard Talley, 22, of Pasadena, face an Aug. 5 trial on several robbery charges.

The three men were arrested May 26 by members of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Special Investigations Section after officers watched a trio follow the Woodland Hills woman from a supermarket to her home. Police suspect Roberts and Talley may have been involved in at least 24 “follow home” robberies from Burbank to Calabasas.
