Woman Shot in Head
A woman was shot in the head Wednesday night as she stood outside a fast food restaurant during a drive-by shooting in East San Diego, San Diego police said.
The victim, described as being in her 20s, was listed in serious but stable condition.
The woman, whose name was not released, was apparently caught by gunfire as two men shot at individuals in the parking lot of Taco Bell at 5000 Federal Boulevard at 8:10 p.m., Sgt. Richard Nemetz said. It is believed that the shooting was race-related, as the pedestrians were black, he said.
The police gang unit is investigating.
