ANTELOPE VALLEY : Fox to Try to Regain Hospital Board Seat

Share

Three months after he was recalled from the Antelope Valley Hospital District board, Steve Fox declared this week that he will try to regain a seat on the board.

Fox, a San Fernando Valley junior high school teacher who lives in Palmdale, filed nomination papers to run for one of three seats on the board in Lancaster’s municipal election in November.

Fox and Anne Brouillette were removed from the board in a recall election last April.

One month later, Dr. Harvey Birsner, board chairman and an ally of Fox and Brouillette, resigned from the board after serving 11 years as a director. Birsner, whose term would have expired in November, complained that the recall campaign convinced him that “politics is a dirty business.”

Dr. Ralph Holmes, who has served on the board for 24 years and who supported the recall, is one of three incumbents in the November election. The others, Hank Marvin and Dante Simi, were appointed to fill seats vacated by Birsner and Larry Parker, who also resigned in May.
