PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE NFL : Toney’s Comeback Has Quick Ending

Running back Anthony Toney, out of football all of last year, abandoned his comeback with the San Francisco 49ers and retired.
Toney joined the 49ers as a free agent. He was waived by Philadelphia last year. In five seasons in Philadelphia, he gained 2,294 yards rushing, 1,031 yards receiving and scored 19 touchdowns.
