In other playoff games:

Sepulveda 3, Woodland Hills East 1--Steve Cain, a 5-foot-8, 130-pound left-hander, overpowered Woodland Hills East with his arm and his bat in an elimination game at College of the Canyons.

Cain, who pitched four innings in relief Tuesday, scattered seven hits and struck out seven in eight innings to earn the win and improve to 4-2. Cain also went two for four, with a double and a fourth-inning solo home run that snapped a 1-1 tie.

Woodland Hills East stranded 11 runners as Cain pitched out of several jams. In the first, Woodland Hills East placed runners at first and third with one out but Cain escaped with two consecutive infield pop-ups. In the third, Cain escaped a bases-loaded jam by striking out Matt Allison on a called third strike to end the inning.

In the ninth, Cain yielded to left-hander Jared Sandler, who allowed runners to reach first and second with two out but escaped by inducing Stacy Kleiner to hit into a game-ending force play.

Sepulveda took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Ethan Parker drew a bases-loaded walk.

Woodland Hills East pulled even in the third on a run-scoring single by Gabe Kapler.

In the seventh, Sepulveda went ahead, 3-1, on Brad Fullmer’s double to right-center that scored Jeff Shapiro from first. Shapiro led off the inning with a walk.

Sun Valley 11, Granada Hills West 6--Sun Valley tagged three pitchers for 14 hits in an elimination game at Pierce College.

Steve Chavez led the charge by going four for four with four runs batted in. Pascual Mungia had a pair of run-scoring doubles in five at-bats and Michael LaBrunda was three for four, including a leadoff triple in the bottom of the first that triggered a two-run rally. LaBrunda also doubled to highlight a three-run eighth.

For Granada Hills West, Heath McElwee had a three-run double to highlight a five-run fifth inning. McElwee scored on a sacrifice fly.

Alan Alegria relieved starter Orlando Chavarria in the sixth and pitched two innings to earn the win.
