ABSENT FATHERS
The damage that is done to sons and daughters with absent fathers is staggering. Although I cannot speak for women, the emotional and psychological absence of a father renders a son lost in a veritable wasteland, mentorless with no road map. He wanders throughout his life in search of his own selfhood.
The current men’s movement cannot make fathers pay for child support, but it can help some men look inside themselves, acknowledge their own wounds and attempt to be a real presence in the life of their children.
