SPRING VALLEY : CHP Searching for Hit-and-Run Driver
The California Highway Patrol is looking for a man whose car struck a 5-year-old Spring Valley girl Sunday evening as she ran across the street with her ball.
Elizabeth Pipkin was in fair condition Monday at Children’s Hospital in San Diego with a broken left leg, a spokesman there said.
She was struck at 6:40 p.m. by a gray, two-door car described as a Ford Escort as she was crossing the 3600 block of South Bonita Street, south of Dolores Street, with a ball she had just retrieved, a CHP spokesman said.
The male driver, who had a child with him in the front seat, stopped briefly and then left, the spokesman said.
