Miami quarterback Dan Marino is not expected to play in Saturday’s exhibition opener against the defending Super Bowl champion Washington Redskins, Dolphin Coach Don Shula said. Scott Mitchell will start at quarterback and play at least a half. The second half will be split between Scott Secules and Doug Pederson. . . . One of Buffalo’s five holdouts, running back Ken Davis, came to terms and participated in the day’s lone practice in the afternoon. Davis missed six days of camp while waiting for his contract. He gained 604 yards last season, starting one of Buffalo’s 16 games. The Bills’ remaining holdouts are linebacker Cornelius Bennett, defensive end Leon Seals, cornerback Kirby Jackson and tight end Keith McKeller.
