Los Angeles police were searching for a gunman Saturday who shot and killed a woman in front of her two children at a drive-through restaurant in Watts.

Anita Robertson, 30, of Los Angeles died within minutes of the 11 p.m. Friday shooting at a Jack-in-the-Box restaurant at 103rd Street and Central Avenue, authorities said. No one else was injured.

Police said Robertson had just driven up to the restaurant with her two children, a friend, and the friend’s three children, when a gunman approached the driver’s side of the vehicle and shot Robertson.

It was unclear if he made any demands before firing. The gunman fled, apparently with Robertson’s purse.

It was reported that there were other cars in line at the time. Police ask that anyone with information about the murder contact detectives.
