Costa Mesa’s Venegas Wins Scratch Main
Charles Venegas of Costa Mesa won the four-lap scratch main event of the weekly speedway motorcycle racing program in front of 5,204 at the Orange County Fairgrounds.
Venegas was the wire-to-wire winner and Lance King of Huntington Beach finished second. Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa was third and Mike Faria of Colton fourth.
Brad Oxley of San Juan Capistrano came off the 40-yard line to win the eight-lap handicap main event. Venegas was second, Jes Ochoa of Corona third and Mike Faria of Colton fourth.
