The Valley Rangers scored twice in the bottom of the ninth inning Saturday to overcome a one-run deficit and beat the Greensboro Brewers of North Carolina, 7-6, in a first-round game of the National Baseball Congress World Series in Wichita, Kan.

With the Rangers trailing, 6-5, pinch-hitter Geoff Martinez doubled to lead off the Rangers’ ninth. Bobby Casanova, another pinch-hitter, followed with a single to drive in Martinez. After advancing to second on a passed ball, Casanova scored the winning run on Ted Weisfuss’ single with none out.

Mike Winslow (2-0), who relieved in the eighth, picked up the victory for the Rangers (28-17).
