Roses N’ Riots: Heavy metal fans went on a rampage late Saturday in Montreal after a sold-out concert by Guns N’ Roses and Metallica was cut short. More than 200 helmeted police wielding riot clubs chased rioters through streets and fired tear gas into the crowd inside the stadium. Police said that at least 10 rioters received minor injuries and that 12 people were arrested. Witnesses in the crowd of 53,000 said the riot erupted as concertgoers left the stadium; about 2,000 began throwing things, overturning cars and smashing windows. Metallica cut its set short because of an explosion that injured lead singer James Hetfield. Guns N’ Roses came on early but decided to end the concert after lead singer Axl Rose developed a voice problem.
