ALHAMBRA : Damage Set at $1 Million in Plating Company Fire
- Share via
An Alhambra plating company sustained $1 million in damage Sunday night after fire erupted in a heating unit and spread through the premises, authorities reported Monday.
The fire at Pemaco Plating Co., in the 2100 block of Lemon Avenue, was controlled by about 75 firefighters from Alhambra and neighboring cities, said Alhambra Fire Marshal John Kabala.
Authorities sealed off a two-block area around the workshop while crews cleaned up toxic liquid that spilled when a plastic vat containing 400 gallons of nickel sulfate melted, Kabala said.
