Night and New York City: “Night and the City,” starring Robert De Niro and Jessica Lange, has been selected to close the New York Film Festival on Oct. 11. The movie, directed by Irwin Winkler and written by Richard Price, tells the story of a small-time New York City lawyer who, with the help of a bar owner’s wife, decides to take a shot at big-time boxing promotion. Produced by De Niro’s Tribeca Productions, the film is scheduled to be released by 20th Century Fox this fall.
