ESCONDIDO : Drive-By Shooting Kills 1, Injures 2

A Santa Isabel man was killed and two companions were wounded Monday in a drive-by shooting in Escondido.
Harry Frederick Elsner III, 32, was struck as he stood in the driveway of a house in the 800 block of North Fig St. about 3 a.m. A car passed by, and an occupant fired about 10 shots, said Escondido Police Lt. John Wilson. Elsner died at the scene.
Rayetta Harvey, 38, and John Anthony Corrasco, 24, whose addresses were not known, were talking with Elsner when they were hit by gunfire. Harvey who was wounded in the left leg, was treated at Palomar Medical Center and released. Corrasco was struck in the arm and was in fair condition at Palomar, said Amy DeNoble, a hospital spokeswoman.
Police are investigating the shooting. Anyone with information may call Wilson at 741-4717.
