San Gabriel : Review of City Streets

Share

The City Council voted 4 to 0 Tuesday to use $75,000 of the city’s transportation sales tax funds to review the city streets and prepare a schedule for improvements.

The city must complete the studies before seeking additional money to perform repairs and upgrades, City Administrator P. Michael Paules said.

The funds, which will pay for computer equipment and engineering consultants, would be drawn from the city’s share of money from Proposition C, which added one-half percent to the sales tax paid by county residents and dedicated the funds to road improvements and mass transit. Approval is required from the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission but is considered routine. The city’s 1992-93 Proposition C allocation is $356,000.
