The man is in critical condition at UCI Medical Center in Orange. According to police, he suffered major injuries to his head, abdomen and legs.

Police said the driver of the car did not stop after the collision and continued driving south down Golden West Street. They believe the driver may have turned into a housing tract near Golden West Street and Slater Avenue, McErlain said.

The bicyclist’s injuries have been so severe that he has been unable to provide any information to police.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Officer Brian Davidson in the Police Department’s traffic bureau at (714) 536-5663.
