The University of Michigan will ask the NCAA to decide whether three of its basketball players broke a rule by appearing together at a camp, a newspaper reported.
Chris Webber and Eric Riley each reportedly received $200 to appear at the camp held in June at Port Huron Northern High , the Hillsdale Daily News reported Friday. Jalen Rose, a third member of Michigan’s 1992 NCAA Final Four team, reportedly showed up late and received $50.
NCAA rules allow only one representative from a Division I school to appear at a camp or clinic at a time.
The university also will send the NCAA a voluntary report on an appearance by Webber, Riley and Rose last weekend in the Netherlands, where they signed autographs and judged a slam-dunk contest, receiving $300 apiece.
